Button Wins Again In Bahrain
The Briton fought his way from fourth on the starting grid behind the Toyotas of Timo Glock and Jarno Trulli, who had started on the front row but were running light with low fuel loads. When they pitted early on, Button’s Brawn GP car took the lead. Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel, winner of the last race in China, was considered favourite alongside Button, but had trouble passing Trulli after the first round of pit stops and Button established a considerable lead that he never relinquished. He took the chequered flag seven seconds ahead of Vettel, with Trulli in third. The 2008 world champion, Lewis
Hamilton, had a great start in his so-far disappointing McLaren, but could not
hold off Button. He finished in fourth place. Button’s Brawn teammate, Rubens
Barrichello, was fifth. Ferrari scored its first points
of the season as Kimi Raikkonen finished in sixth, but Felipe Massa was way down
the field in 14th after having technical problems and losing his front wing at
the start. "It was a great race today and
I'm so happy to have seen the chequered flag without a safety car or red light
in front of me!” said Button.
