Volkswagen’s Middle East dealers have changed the name of the Passat CC because it’s confusing customers. Although the official name of the sedan is still the Passat CC, dealers are ordering cars from the factory with only CC badges, and are no longer using the word Passat in the showrooms. A spokesman for Volkswagen Middle East said customers were confused by the name, assuming that the CC was a replacement for the original Passat, which remains on sale. Upon discovering that they could order the cars without the Passat badge, dealers decided to cut the name down. Henceforth then, the car is to be known as the Volkswagen CC.
