Kia officially reveals the 2011 Sportage

Two weeks after images of Kia’s 2011 Sportage leaked onto the web, the manufacturer has released official pictures ahead of the SUV's official debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month.

The new Sportage presents a radical shift from the current model’s old school design and incorporates fresh and athletic styling.

Longer, lower and wider than the previous generation model, the new Sportage promises more space for people and cargo, with an improved ride quality thanks to a longer wheelbase. 

It decidedly looks more upmarket too and seems in a better position to compete with strong rivals like the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4 and the Ford Escape when it is launched later in 2010.

Kia claims that the new Sportage will be more spacious on the inside because of a longer wheelbase. More details are expected nearer to the Geneva Motor Show.
