2011 Ford Mustang details leaked

Posted by Udit Bhandari at Nov 20, 2009 08:15 PM

Ford launched its 2010 Mustang in the Middle East only recently but according to leaked information, development the 2011 model of this muscle car is already under way.

Sources within Ford say that the company plans to introduce the  2011 Mustang into the American car market as early as March 2010.

Adding credibility to this leaked information is Ford’s announcement that it will be unveiling the 2011 Mustang's powertrain at this year’s LA Motor Show in December. If the sources are correct, Ford will begin accepting orders for the 2011 Mustang in the U.S on January 18 with production commencing on March 15 2010.

The 2011 Mustang is likely to get two new engines with more power. A 5.0-litre V8 with 400 bhp will replace the 315bhp, 4.6-litre V8 mill which is available in the Middle East model as of now.  A 315bhp, 3.7 litre Duratec V6 would replace the 4.0-litre unit available in other markets and might be made available in the Middle East as well.

Other details revealed in the leak include a six-speed automatic transmission and various options including Brembo brakes, a more aggressive Track Pack and even a California Special package. We expect more details to surface during the LA Motor Show.
