Renault's most recent
addition to the mid-size sedan category – the Safrane, is making
its world premiere in the Middle East this September. The Safrane
will be Renault's bid in the high volume mid-size car category in the
Middle East and will directly pitch against the likes of industry
established players such as Toyota Camry, Honda Accord and Nissan
Altima.
The Renault Safrane will
be available with either a 2.0-litre four cylinder powertrain or a
more powerful 2.3-litre V6 (170bhp) powerplant co-developed with
Nissan and shifted via a 5-speed automatic transmission with manual
mode. Like we had earlier reported (Is
Middle East-bound Mystery Renault The SM5?), the Safrane is
infact based on the most recent edition (July 2007) of the Renault
Samsung Motors model, the SM5. |
Renault is offering a
3-year – 100,000 kilometres bumper to bumper warranty on the
Safrane. The new mid-sizer will also be the very first car in the
Renault GCC line-up to benefit from Renault's latest customer care
service called 'Customer First'. The Safrane will be available in the
Middle East in three trim levels – PE (2.0-litre), SE & LE
(2.3-litre V6) starting from AED59, 454 (USD16,200) up to AED80,740
(USD22,000).
