2009 Ford Fusion will be launched in the Middle East in September, the American car maker has announced. Fusion will be Ford's second car in the highly competitive mid size family car segment following the Mondeo.
Ford currently
pitches its European Mondeo against the likes of Nissan Altima, Toyota
Camry and Honda Accord in the mid-size segment, the addition of Fusion to the Ford passenger car
line-up will add to providing a choice to buyers looking for an
executive/family car.
The
Fusion will be powered by Ford's 2.3-litre Duratec 23 I-4 featuring
an all-aluminum construction, dual overhead cams, four valves per
cylinder, intake Variable Cam Timing (i-VCT) and electronic throttle
control. The four-cylinder engine delivers 160 horsepower, and is
available with a five-speed manual or automatic transmission.
