Amidst the doom and gloom
surrounding the global automotive industry, Land Rover has introduced
its 2009 range of luxury fuel guzzling SUVs in the Gulf and Levant.
The Middle East is one of the few markets where large SUVs are still
in vogue and Land Rover wants to capitalise on that with its new
range. The 2009 range comprising of the flagship Range Rover, Range
Rover Sport, Land Rover LR2 and the Land Rover LR3.
The new Range Rover
offers higher luxury with greater use of leather on the facia, door
casings, steering wheels, door bins, floor mats, seats and centre
console coupled with fine use of wood ascents.
Your ego will be
satisfied with two V8 motors. One being a supercharged 4.2 litre 400
bhp unit and the other a naturally aspirated 4.4 litre with 300 bhp
on tap. Gizmos include Terrain Response, electronic park brake,
electronic rear ‘e’ differential, cooled front seats and digital
TV and the SUV now rides on 20 inch ‘bling’ wheels. |
The new Range Rover sport
includes exterior modification including body colour finish tailgate
trim, revised tread mat on upper surface of the rear bumper, the
addition of clear-lens rear lights and clear lens side indicators.
The engine options are the same as the Range Rover but the Sport has
Land Rover’s unique Dynamic Response System making the Range Rover
Sport an capable sports tourer.
The Land Rover LR3 has
also been launched and is one of the most competent off-road vehicle
in its segment. The 2009 Land Rover LR3 gets more posh with
re-profiled body coloured front bumper, revised rear bumper, body
coloured tailgate lift handle, revised "tungsten" coloured
side vent and door handles, clear-lens side repeaters across the
range and body coloured wheel arches. The new Land Rover LR3 also
rides on new 19 inch alloys and comes with two engine variants: a 4.4
litre V8 and a 4.0 litre V6.
The 2009 Land Rover LR2
comes with a new Premium pack which includes a distinctive rear roof
spoiler, chrome tailpipe finishers, body-coloured lower sections of
the bumpers and doorsills and tungsten coloured door handles together
with 19 inch alloys, giving the SUV a sportier profile. The Land
Rover LR2 continues to use the 3.2 litre i6 petrol engine.
The 2009 Range Rover,
Range Rover Sport, Land Rover LR3 and the Land Rover LR2 will be sold
with the Land Rover 5 year/ 150,000 kms warranty cover across the
region. The SUVs are rolling into showrooms with immediate effect.
