The bigger and more
menacing brother of the Audi A6, the Audi RS 6, has just been
premiered at the ongoing Shrajah Motor Show 2008 ahead of its launch
in January 2009. The RS6 looks rather unassuming and almost like the
A6 but takes performance to a new high. Before the R8, the RS 6 was
the most powerful road going Audi. In the 2009 RS 6 power and respect
come easily via a V10 5 litre TFSI twin-turbo engine (direct
injection) which belts out 580 bhp and a road churning 650 Nm of
torque.
This beast of an engine
propels the hefty sedan from 0-100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds and to a
top whack of 280 km/h (unlimited). The engine's power flows through a
6-speed tiptronic gearbox, which is one of the new, dynamic
generation of Audi autos and has a reaction time of one tenth of a
second. Dynamic Ride Control DRC helps reduce pitch and roll and
keeps the car stable while cornering at high speeds. The 2009 RS 6
also features LED headlamps and tail lamps and 19-inch alloy wheels
shod with 255/40 low profile tires. It is further differentiated from
the A6 by its flared fenders and deep side skirts, the rear diffuser,
the spoiler integrated into the trunk lid and the two large exhaust
pipes.
